From Wednesday 28th June - Sunday 2nd July, Old Market Square and Long Row in Nottingham City Centre will once again be hosting the award-winning Continental Market. With traders from countries as far afield as Morocco, India, South Africa, France, Russia, Brazil, Spain and China, the market is a source of outstanding local and international produce, gifts and crafts bringing something for the whole family!
It is one of the most interactive events which offers customers the opportunity to taste and sample most of the foods on sale, learn to cook some of the exotic dishes using ingredients you may not use regularly, or foods you may not have seen before. You can also pick up recipes for the foods you see being cooked and be part of a unique experience!
We have a brand-new trader attending Nottingham, Darrell Moreira, the owner of Cape Lekker, moved to the UK 23 years ago from his native home of Johannesburg. He brings with him his special recipes where you’ll be able to try Boerewors, Biltong, Bobotie, Cape Malay Curries and Vetkoek. Also, a firm favourite is Meats of the World, where you’ll be able to sample some of the rare and exotic meats and burgers including Crocodile, Impala, Wild Boar and Ostrich and Kangaroo.
There will also be a great variety of craft and gifts from across the globe for shoppers to explore. Another new trader is Marrakech Express, Fairtrade gifts made from Thuya Wood which are handmade in Morocco, Wicker & ceramic Hearts, Inspirational plaques, Crystals & gifts which are all handmade from Gifts 4 The Soul, Castaneda will be back with South American clothing, knitwear, jewellery, dream catchers and traditional musical instruments.
If you’re not sure about something, just ask our welcoming traders who will be happy to help.
