Continental Market Programme
We are about to re-start our programme of events so it is important that you make sure you have applied on line. We appreciate that many of you will have allowed your public liability insurances to lapse and will need to renew it when you start trading again. If you experience any problems applying on line because you need to up date your Insurance details you will need to go onto your dashboard on line and on the Documents and insurance section click edit against your last Insurance details and reset that to indicate “show at the event” or “update later” then you will be able to apply for events on line.
If for any reason you have an ongoing problem with applying on line please email email@example.com and they will endeavour to assist.
Once we start the event programme, we will have a market each week through until the Christmas Markets commence so you need to keep watching our web site for announcements.
Christmas Markets 2020
We are in discussion with Belfast City Council, Cheltenham District Council and Glasgow City Council regarding the Christmas Markets and as you can imagine as the Covid Rules are slightly different between England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, it is proving a little confusing and difficult in some areas. Clearly local councils are wanting to leave these decisions as late as possible in the hope that the Covid position improves.
Belfast – We understand that the City Council are keen that the Christmas Market should go ahead under Covid restrictions. We have prepared Covid Plans ready for the confirmation that this event can go ahead. We understand that a decision will be made before the end of August.
Glasgow – We have now been informed by Glasgow City Council that the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will make an announcement on the 24th August as to whether large scale events can go ahead and under what conditions. We will come back to you as soon as we have a decision on this event.
Cheltenham – We have had a meeting in Cheltenham recently and we are moving forward with our planning for this event. In many respects the linear layout of the market makes social distancing more easily achievable.
We have now updated our web site to include all of the Christmas Market events but we do need you to go on line and apply for all events you wish to attend.
We have recently received details of a national consumer survey which highlights that UK businesses/retailers are struggling to meet customer expectations when it comes to Covid safety measures being implemented resulting in a significant loss in consumer confidence and hence sales. We have produced a Covid Guidance plan and Risk Assessments for traders which will be sent out to every trader who is selected to attend our events. Many traders will have already received a copy of this plan. It is important that every trader attending our events contributes and responds positively to ensuring customer safety from Covid19 and that the more visual that compliance is the greater the Customer confidence in your business and products.
